The Lions offer old Nate Burleson a contract of $50,000 for 1 year.

Lions must offer the same contract that player was previously signed for before they released him = $3,000,000 / 4 years. Teams cannot release a player and try to sign him in the same off season for cheaper.

Are you sure? I had gotten the opposite impression from your answer in the Q&A section about dropping Calvin Johnson, as an example.

I have consulted league members on this and the consensus is that we institute a 7-day waiver period. If the player goes without an offer in that 7 day period, then you may offer any amount. If the player does get an offer, than you can only bid the same amount in which you dropped the player.

therefor Burleson will be available for you to bid on him on 8/29 at 10:55PM if no one puts a bid in before then.

Ok. In this instance, since it is the first one, I ask that if I end up taking Burleson back, that he will be treated as if I had never dropped him in case he retires after the season (you had established a special salary cap rule for players on original roster who retire).
